Market data API
A discovery index listing every market and government dataset this API serves, daily snapshots and historical time series for each tracked category, per-instrument statistics scored against five years of history, an upcoming large-cap earnings calendar, stored market headlines, and the tickers being discussed most across public communities.
The statistics endpoints are the unusual part. Rather than returning a price and leaving the interpretation to you, they score each instrument against its own five-year distribution, which is the calculation most consumers of a raw price feed end up writing themselves.

Getting started
Every endpoint is JSON over HTTPS and takes one API key in an x-api-key header. There is no SDK to install and no OAuth dance.
curl "https://api.bottlebluellc.com/v1/market" \
-H "x-api-key: $BBL_API_KEY"
Quickstart, authentication and errors and rate limits are documented in the reference. Keys are issued from the Bottle Blue dashboard.
Common questions
What is the difference between the market and stats endpoints?
The market endpoints return values: the latest snapshot for a category, or a historical series for one instrument. The stats endpoints return those values scored against five years of that instrument's own history, so you get where a number sits in its distribution rather than only the number.
How do I find out which categories exist?
Call the discovery index at the root of the market namespace. It lists every market and government dataset the API serves, which means you do not have to hardcode a category list that can go stale.
Is the earnings calendar forward looking?
Yes, and it is the one market endpoint that is. Every other category returns what has already happened; the earnings endpoints return scheduled reports in a forward window, either across large caps or for a single symbol.
Is this real-time market data?
No. The collectors run on a schedule and the endpoints serve the most recent completed snapshot, so this suits analysis, dashboards and research rather than execution. If you need a live order book, this is not the right API.
